  1. Where would you like to go next? Let me know!

  2. So what I see is the older homes with low trunk trees where home sits in shade all the time. This seems to be where decay sets in and the rest is history. Some of the trees where the right kind with tall trunks and a little thinner canopy, so some sun hits the ground. Most of those neighborhoods were lovely to see, beautiful trees, every yard mowed and green wow I'd live there as long as there are no hurricanes or Mississippi flooding. A nice place. I'm no longer so afraid of "HOODS". Just a nieghborhood to me at least all the houses are not beige and the same for miles. CA. I'm from now in OR up in NW in the trees. Keep safe, Peace.

  3. Why doesn't the city condemn those derelict properties? Taxpayers shouldn't be forced to look at that mess every day.

If I lived there, I would raise holy hell until the city did their duty. The fine people of Jackson deserve so much better.

  4. Thanks, 601 TRAVELS for the tour through the little community of Jackson, Mississippi. As usual, I have to comment on how clean and "litter-free" even the most humble communities in the South really are! Thanks again for the nice drive!

  5. I watched the movie THE HELP with my wife and wanted to see the real Jackson,MS how sad to see it like that if people had jobs it wouldn't be that bad but there is no jobs there n I think that's done on purpose to keep people down.I know people know what I'm talking about,my prayers for the people there n for the city.GOD BLESS!

  6. Since Mississippi is the poorest and most underdeveloped state in the US, I guess it is to be expected that its capital and largest city has the same socioeconomic backwardness that the rest of the state suffers intensely. It is still horribly sad and totally inexcusable. Jackson can be a very beautiful city but unfortunately urban poverty has ruined large sections of it.

  7. Sirens 🚨 in the back ground, abandoned graffitied buildings, run down houses, unkept streets, overgrown lowly maintained area, and you’re driving slowly!
    Speed up 601!
And get the puck outa there!!!!!
