what is going on everyone let's talk about what may be my future home state the Keystone State Pennsylvania what's ironic about the nickname the Keystone State is Pennsylvania isn't a state it's a Commonwealth and if you don't know what the difference between is state and Commonwealth there's not much of a difference it's more or less just a word these days there are some small differences so those of you out there about to correct me just stop typing Pennsylvania is one of my favorite States or Commonwealth's they have some of the best small towns in the country including one I consider to be the best one in the country homes Dale Pennsylvania they also have some not so great places just like every state Pennsylvania like any state in or around the New England area runs deep in colonial Revolutionary War history in case you don't know where the Keystone State is here you go Pennsylvania's ranked 5th in population 33rd in area they were admitted into the Union on December 12 1787 that made them the second state or Commonwealth Pennsylvania is considered to be a balanced state when it comes to population growth they have about the same amount of people moving in is moving out and that's according to the United Van Lines study for 2018 Pennsylvania is a great state with some of the best people in this country but it's not for everyone if you're thinking about moving to the Keystone State and I'm gonna explain some things you should know before you go in my top 10 reasons not to move to Pennsylvania number 10 hunting season Pennsylvania residents are very big hunters and trappers while many Americans celebrate many unofficial holidays like national donut day national Talk Like a Pirate Day and April 20th Pennsylvanians celebrate the first day of hunting season like it's the 4th of July with gun fire and set of fireworks this is a big day for most of Pennsylvania like most states they have different dates for different hunting types and games for the most part it's normally between early October to late January with a sprinkling of other dates throughout the year so basically if you have a problem with hunting and hunters you're going to have a problem with a lot of people half the year it seems keep that in mind before you move there number nine Commonwealth here's a little fact people from the West Coast don't know about Pennsylvania it is an actually state it's a Commonwealth like I said at the beginning of the video there's really no difference between states and Commonwealth's in the u.s. minor differences the term is used mainly to focus on the common welfare of the residents but if you do call it a state in front of some of the locals you're gonna get in the earful so if you move there save yourself a handful of ten-minute aggravating conversations and just say Commonwealth so this one isn't as much a reason not to move to the state of Pennsylvania or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania it's really just something you should know number eight anti Halloween while the rest of the world is celebrating Halloween on October 31st various areas of Pennsylvania have probably already had their Halloween activities mainly for safety concerns some areas have designated trick-or-treating times where trick-or-treating is loud and on a scheduled day these days can range depending on the area that you're going to but it could be as early as October 17th now for a place that probably leads the country in stories of hauntings you'd think they go all in on this tradition if you do move to certain places in the Quaker State yes that's another nickname that Pennsylvania has be prepared for your kids to be confused and disappointed nobody wants to see a young ghost or Dracula disappointed number 7 hunting laws hunting is a good time for many Pennsylvanians with any good time comes laws just another way the man trying to keep you down one law being you're able to fish on your own property with no license however and ordered to hunt on your own property you do need a license also you may not use dynamite to catch fish now to me that's common sense high explosive fishing never is a good idea I normally would have been shocked to read that they actually had to get to the point where they made a law about this one but then again I just did a video on Kansas and I learned that it's illegal to shoot bunnies from speedboats so in both these cases that means someone has done this many many times and been warned many many times and it got so bad they had to make a law so if you're a hunter make sure you read up on all the laws and leave your dynamite home number six traffic traffic can get pretty rough especially the closer you get to any major city like most states Pittsburgh is bad but Philly is nuts I was in Philadelphia this last June and I thought the traffic was bad because I was near the airport I was wrong it went on like this for like ten miles in about two hours do yourself a favor take public transportation if possible just reduce your time in traffic and don't plan on getting anywhere during the summer months that's also referred to as construction season like a lot of East Coast states ones just for me but I'm from Oregon in the West Coast we don't have a lot of toll roads or anything I got I got on the Turnpike I didn't know what was going on luckily when I was getting off I ran into a guy that kind of explained it to me but it was still confusing he was really nice too kept calling me buddy and really up it's okay buddy don't worry about it but I kept it was strange but nice but yeah it's easy to get lost it's easy to get stuck in traffic in Pennsylvania just know what you're doing use that land nav system you have on your car or phone number five the frickin Amish now this one kind of bleeds into the whole traffic thing and it's the Amish with more than 60,000 Amish residents don't be surprised if you get stuck behind a horse-drawn buggy just hope a passing lane comes up and comes up soon horses don't move too fast now when it comes to the Amish it's great live your life how you want you know but come on those hats and those beards and that's just the women the men have even stranger hats if you move to a major city you'll probably never see any Amish but make a wrong turn down a country road and it's like you went back in time and it's strange how most cultures keep progressing they're moving forward some faster than others but for the most part they keep moving forward not the Amish it's like they picked a date and stuck with it kind of like fashion at a retirement community go to any retirement community anywhere in this country and you'll still see 1970s leisure suits made out of polyester I'm not even kidding number four income tax like most states they have income tax no dot right Pennsylvania has pretty low income tax rate at three point zero seven percent that's currently however on top of state and federal income tax residents have to pay local income tax and local service tax to the city where they live so while your income tax rate starts off pretty low it can build kind of quick kind of like a Comcast bill L and Comcast is headquartered in Philadelphia so that sucks for Pennsylvania number three the snow Pennsylvania gets some serious snow some areas get up to forty five inches of snow per year now as if being snowed in isn't bad enough already depending on where you live there might be laws regarding snow remove in Lancaster property owners are required to remove snow from the sidewalks in front their house within five hours of the last snowfall however in Pittsburgh residents are allowed 24 hours to remove it and that sucks but hey if you're an out-of-state fisherman maybe you can use some of that unused dynamite you got laying around to clear the snow it's how my grandmother used to do it number two mailing addresses mailing addresses can get pretty confusing here mainly because of all the unincorporated towns they basically operate the same as a neighborhood there no government structures there's no post office so they're not official towns or cities it's really weird while many people will say that they live and say something like Taylor or Old Forge their mailing address will still say Scranton and it's hard to understand if you're an outsider it's it's really just not normal kind of like a 1970s Leisure Suit being worn these days and number one Philadelphia the City of Brotherly loved once the poster child for American independence now has become a crime infested city of poverty and depression I've been to Philadelphia a few times in my life I was blown away by its history the Declaration of Independence the Liberty Bell the Franklin Institute and even the rocky statue however beyond the historical portions of this great city you have the impoverished parts of Philly this city in some places doesn't represent the greatness of this country it's just a stark reminder of our failures and it's sad this city should be so much better don't get me wrong there's parts of Philadelphia that are really nice and you know really amazing but there's a large portion of it that is just ugly but hey they have great cheesesteaks so it makes it all better right all right so that's my top ten reasons not to move to Pennsylvania like I said Pennsylvania is a great state I love it I will probably move there soon but these are just things you should probably consider before you make that move before Warren just know about them ahead of time and you're fine don't forget all the links below don't forget to hit that subscribe button if you haven't already everybody have a great day be nice to each other

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to New York. The whole state of New York, Not just New York City.

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to New York. The whole state of New York, Not just New York City.

what is going on everyone who wants to hear about New York State did you know New York as a state as well as a city I know 99.9% of you just went yeah no kidding but I actually know a girl who's 24 that she really thought it was its own place she thought New York City was kind of like Washington DC it was its own entity or its own location but then again she also thinks Paul McCartney wouldn't have a career without Kanye West so that kind of tells you what I'm dealing with I sometimes worry she's going to have kids really do anyway New York is a state in the northeastern part of the country here it is it's right up there towards the top it carries the lofty nickname of the Empire State and New York was one of the original 13 colonies that formed the United States with an estimated nineteen point eight five million residents in 2017 it is the fourth most populous state and twenty seventh and total area New York State was admitted into the Union July 26 1788 and is the 11th state after a hundred or so years of people moving to New York last decade or so is seen a slowdown in that migration in the last several years they've seen a shift and now are losing more people than they gained they're currently the third most moved out of state in the United States now that doesn't mean people aren't still moving there it's a great state with great opportunities and great people you could be one of them but before you move to the Empire State maybe you should watch my top ten reasons not to move to New York number ten rude people New York has always had the stereotype of having very rude residents majority of this you will find in the cities but you'd also find it throughout the state to now to most people this does seem rude but really it's just they have a very direct way of interacting with each other Outsiders do see this as abrasive and it takes a while to get used to just be prepared number nine accents New Yorkers have some of the deepest thickest accents in the States this accent also feeds into the stereotypes of them being rude New York speakers have some unique conversational styles linguistic professor Deborah Tanner noted in a New York Times article that New Yorkers stand closer talk louder and leave shorter pauses between exchanges most of the country sees this is rude New Yorkers just see it as the way they communicate number eight the garbage plate now this one isn't as much a reason not to move to the state as me letting you know what the hell someone's talking about if you hear this in your near Rochester the garbage plate is not what you think this is food and no not discarded food like the name implies this is actually something people enjoy it refers very specifically to a prepared entree consisting primarily of the following hot dogs without buns hamburgers without buns steak pork chops sausage ham fish or eggs and processed potatoes and processed beans they just throw all this stuff on a plate for you and serve it to you expect you to pay for it now what's really strange about this this is like a good thing for people from upstate New York really I don't get it I had one once and I was not impressed but people love it now other places do sell it but they can't use the name garbage plate because the original place they've kind of it's kind of their things other places have other names for but it's the same idea number seven crime rate in New York the crime rate is very high it always has been most of this obviously being from the major cities but they still have a solid amount throughout the state the United States as a whole has seen a five percent decrease in overall crime rate however New York has experienced a four percent overall increase that's not a good sign number six snow New York doesn't just get snow it gets dumped on in fact data shows Rochester's the snowiest city in the entire country they averaged about a hundred inches a year a lot of snow now that is much higher than let's say Manhattan which only saw about 26 inches in 2017 but still that makes for a very very cold winter and rough to get around look into each area before you buy a house and check the snowfall totals and keep in mind when you're closer to water the lakes especially you're gonna get more snow number five New York City New York City is a great city probably the most important city on the planet it is a great city and it is a great big city and like all giant cities it has its problems it has such bad stats it brings the rest of the state down it's almost like you have two sets of stats for New York you have New York State stats and New York State stats with New York City it looks like there's an asterisk in the stat book for it New York City has high crime stats bad neighborhoods high cost of living housing everything is a bad stat for this place except opportunity plenty of opportunity in New York City you just got to go out and grab it number four tourists New York is filled with tourists any time of the year any time of the day you can't swing a dead rat without hitting one tickets to see the Statue of Liberty need to be bought months in advance Times Square is like Disneyland on a busy day sneak it into KC nice Nats building is getting crowded yeah actually KC nystatin cage don't know is a really big youtuber and some dude a couple weeks ago decided to sneak into his building and like waited for him out in front of his office like early-morning time total dick move don't do that don't find out where your favorite YouTube star is and try and ambush them to beg for help for your channel that's like stalking and it makes you look weird alright moving on if you even are able to get to the top of the Empire State Building it will be shouldered shoulder crowded like 3.5 million people visit the Empire State Building every single year and Casey Neistat is not one of them so don't even try there number three traffic New York City is the third most congested city in the world not just the United States in the world New Yorkers spend an average of 91 hours in traffic a year that's five hours shy of spending four days of the year in traffic now like so many other stats New York City is a major factor in this one and I get it stop typing but the other cities Buffalo Rochester Syracuse they get it pretty bad too traffic just sucks in New York State in general let's get out to the farmland number two cost of living the cost of living in New York is 25% higher than the national average which means you would have to make a hundred twenty five thousand to have the same standard of living someone in Colorado does on sixty-five thousand or someone in Mississippi making minimum wage again the city brings down this stat a lot but most of this state is well above the national average costs a lot to live in New York it costs crazy amounts to live in New York City and number one taxes taxes in New York are nuts as if the cost of living wasn't killing your bank account already you have some of the highest taxes in the country to finish it off now there's a lot of ins and outs and taxes are very complicated but I'm gonna very much broad-stroke this one for you just to give you an idea what you're looking at the effective income tax rate in New York is above five percent for an individual and above six percent for a couple New York allows localities to impose their own income tax and the average there is about two percent more the average state and local sales tax is eight point four percent gas taxes and fees are forty four cents per gallon now it varies by county but that's about the average property taxes are the temped highest in the u.s. the state tax on cigarettes is four dollars and thirty five cents per pack the highest in the US and New York City New York City actually tax on another buck fifty on top of that that's crazy why anyone would want to live here with these taxes and cost living is beyond me now if you make tons and tons of money yeah then by all means it's probably the greatest place to be but if you don't make that kind of money you probably want to look elsewhere and I get we need taxes but come on this states out of control I thought California was bad all right so that's the top ten reasons not to move to New York I hope you guys enjoyed it don't forget hit all those buttons down below everybody have a great day be nice to each other

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to New York. The whole state of New York. Most people just think about New York City and really don’t pay enough attention to the state. Living in New York can be nice for some people, but there are a lot of reasons NOT to live in New York. It is still a great place to travel to.

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to San Diego. Travel, Visit and Vacation City

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to San Diego. Travel, Visit and Vacation City
21 Comments

hey what is going on everyone why don't we take a look at America's finest city San Diego and yeah that's their nickname America's finest city that really sounds like something you have to win not just give yourself you know but hey San Diego's got its own agenda San Diego was founded on July 16th 1760 but was it incorporated till almost a hundred years later on March 27th 1850 San Diego has great beaches great weather and a ton of seamen San Diego is home to Naval Base San Diego which is the home port or about 60 Navy ships and home base to all the sailors and seamen that are signed to those ships San Diego also has the marine course Camp Pendleton just north of the city a bit those would be considered the main bases and they still have a handful of smaller ones sprinkled around the San Diego area to say America's Finest City has some military would be a serious understatement San Diego is a city that people always seem to want to move to it's like on their bucket list you might be one of them but before you go you should watch my top 10 reasons not to move to San Diego number 10 air quality San Diego may not be the place for you if you're looking to live a healthier life sure they have great weather to be outside exercising but the residents of San Diego don't breed the best air in the world in fact the air quality is pretty bad in San Diego it's actually 22 percent worse than the national average in the United States to be honest that whole part of California has dreadful air quality you have one of the worst air quality's in the country just two hours north in Los Angeles then of course Tijuana Mexico is just over the fence for the most part and the air quality over that city it looks like the residents are burning tires for warmth number nine taxes taxes can add up pretty quickly in the Golden State California has a state sales taxes six percent while San Diego has a local tax of 1.75 percent giving the city an overall tax rate of seven point seven five well this is lower than other cities in California it's pretty significant especially when you start adding on all their extras car registration is insane gas taxes are nuts with all those extra taxes and fees on vehicles California is the second most expensive state in the Union to own a car and in most the state when you are in your car you're stuck in stop-and-go traffic almost always well breathing in toxic air it's like driving cross-country with a chain smoker or a reggae band number eight air conditioning air conditioned is definite necessity here some longtime residents will argue this one with you and say it's not that bad but summer's here get really hot and it stays hot for quite a long time sure it's not Phoenix but you expect a little ocean breeze to cool you off when you live in a coastal city San Diego gets hot and their winters never really dip below 60 now if you're sitting in Minnesota listening to this in the dead of winter that sounds pretty tasty to you but it gets old quick number seven parking tickets san Diego's very popular tourist destination because of this you'll more than likely have to pay for parking almost everywhere you go within the city pay attention to the parking signs you don't want to end up with a stack of parking tickets at the end of your 3-day weekend in America's Finest City this is a major source of income for San Diego and it sucks I like the old days when tickets were designed to stop people from doing something now cities are depending on tickets as a form of income I read a story about a city in Florida a couple years back that had hired an outside firm to find more ways to generate parking tickets it doesn't seem like that's what it's supposed to be but that's what it's turned into in government this is pretty much known as a dick move number six public transit public transportation in San Diego supposedly very bad I learned this from some of my friends kids who moved to San Diego for school so I did some research and found some studies and reviews and it's been that way for a couple years and it's mostly due to construction they're trying to make it better for the most part the studies and reviews say that it's unreliable due to constant construction throughout the city others said the buses and trolleys are very dirty and workers fail to clean them for days at a time in other words drive everywhere don't rely on public transit and if need be take an uber at least for the time being it looks like they're trying to make things better but we'll see how that plays out number five harmful race since it's so sunny in San Diego you'll have to protect your skin a little extra throughout the year I talked about this in my denver videos well Denver is at a higher altitude which adds on to the problems you might have with the Sun San Diego's problem is simple they just have a bunch of sunny days take good care of your skin get sunscreen I cream or else you could be looking at a long battle with age spots and wrinkles you could be 45 years old and your face looks like an old saddle nobody wants that number for the drought since San Diego rarely gets rain it seems like they're always having drought warnings what this means is that there's only specific times of the day and week where you can run water because of drought warnings so you'll need to learn the water usage rules and use water wisely these people are serious about water conservation just last summer two eight-year-old children were arrested for making water balloons and throwing them at each other okay I'm totally joking about that one but it is not out of the realm of possibility with these people san Diego's serious about water conservation and lock kids up number three no Seasons San Diego is one of those places where seasons don't exist you will never wake up one morning and see that it magically snowed while you slept it's pretty much summer year-round with the weather getting slightly cooler in the winter months it's almost like there's two weather seasons in San Diego there's t-shirt season and long-sleeve t-shirt season that's it now I'm sure to some of you this is great but on this one I'm talking to the normal people that require a little change in the season you know they don't want to see palm trees all the time they want to see leaves fall off the trees and they want to have a little rain don't move to San Diego if you need seasons number two cost of living if you already don't know cost of living on a coastal California city is high you probably need to get out more the cost of living in San Diego borders on obscene the cost of living in San Diego is about 46 percent higher than the national average and that sucks the good news is you have plenty of time to think about moving to a more affordable City while you wait for a dirty bus that may never come because your car was impounded because you never paid off your parking tickets and you're probably thirsty because apparently water fountains are outlawed in San Diego and number one housing as if the general cost of living wasn't setting you back enough you have housing costs that are mind-blowing and before anyone says it I know San Francisco is even worse stop typing this is a video about San Diego the median home price in San Diego is about 165 percent higher than the national average San Diego has the seventh most expensive housing market among other men areas in the country an average single-family home is around 750,000 or if you want to rent that's about three thousand dollars a month unless you live on a military base or under a bridge in San Diego most of the city is unrealistic without an income around eighty thousand dollars a year that's right if you don't want to live paycheck to paycheck and borrowing money on occasion you better make around eighty thousand dollars a year and that's for most of San Diego I'm sure you're gonna find little parts of the city where you could get a decent apartment I mean price the apartments not gonna be decent it's gonna be bad so yeah it's just expensive to live in San Diego like most of California all right so that's my top ten reasons not to move to San Diego hope you guys enjoyed it hope you got some information out of it don't forget all the links below everybody have a great day be nice to each other
